Thursday evening and my Mrs says 'Let's watch The Duchess'. I must have been brainwashed as I simply said 'Okay'. Idiot.In 7 words or less: Costumes, make-up, big hair, dullness.
Best bits? Half way through the movie when the Thai take-away arrived at my door. Succulent pork with red and green peppers in an oyster sauce. yum. uuuuhhh...the costumes were good.
Did it make you think thoughts? Period dramas. Do we really need more? The problem here is that the story of Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire is just plain boring. Nothing of note happens. The tag-line is, 'Based on the Incredible True Story.' Incredible? Perhaps the most contradictory tag-line ever.
